iHerb Haul - Foods Edition

This time Peter did the ordering, so it feelt a bit wrong to make him pay for some of my beauty treats that mostly I’ll be using haha Therefore this time it's only food related!
We’ve been following/incorporating Kimberly Snyder’s Beauty Detox Solution into our 801010 lifestyle since January, so it explains a lot what’s behind our buys.

NAVITAS NATURALS - ORGANIC GOJI BERRIES

First time I tasted Goji Berries I didn’t seem to get what’s the fuss about them. I still think they are a bit sour to the taste eaten alone. But lately we’ve been stuck in smoothie mode for the last couple of weeks and been consuming quite a lot of these guys actually. So yeah, for now we’ll stock up on this nutritious treasure.
Also, we only found one brand (ICA) at our local supermarket that carries Goji Berries without sulfur dioxide. Luckily it's the cheapest out there, but it's not organic.

Y.S. ECO BEE FARMS - BEE POLLEN

Another thing I thought I should try out.
You know, Miranda Kerr has her Noni Juice, and I thought I could have Bee Pollen as my secret beauty intensifier of some sort…
Bee Pollen is considered to be one of nature's most completely nourishing foods and very alkalizing. But what spoke to me the most was it’s ability and benefit of balancing out hormones and aid digestion = clearing up acne & happy tummy!
So I bought a small bag from Go For Life to just taste it, ’cause I didn’t really know what to expect. Both of us liked the taste so much that we kind of fell in love with it without caring too much about the benefits overall. We just like it in our smoothie bowls. And it was way cheaper buying these off at iHerb, which are also organic in contrast to Go For Life’s that is questionable - I should email them though.

Read about the amazingness of Bee Pollen here.
Check Out Go For Life's range of products here.

ENER-G FOODS - EGG REPLACER

I still use eggs in cooking occasionally. It’s just, I haven’t really been happy with the consistency in cooking/baking without it, and I haven’t found a good replacement.
I also don’t have much against eggs, the industry though on the other hand… Like, I would love to have my own chickens, especially in the summer, we have so much land at our summer cottage it could roam free in. And having cousins who own a farm in Poland, I’m kind of raised with chickens, ducks and cows (e.g. I’ve been lucky enough to have tasted raw milk - tastes salty in my opinion).
Anyway, at the same time I feel like you can live without eggs in your diet without any bigger problems.

One thing Kimberly Snyder uses in her recipes instead of eggs is Ener-g. I’ve tried doing her recipes without it, and tried other things to substitute, but of course they’ve all failed. So I got really happy to find Ener-g at iHerb! I haven’t used it yet, but I will make sure to come back with a review for you guys!

Treat Hay Fever Naturally

It is FINALLY spring time!
But unfortunately, it is not a fun time for everyone… My boyfriend is allergic to pollen and cats (luckily not to Phoebe!). Every year it would get so bad that he would have to take one day off from work because he felt so sick from the sneezing.
And I must say that I got bothered by it too. It’s not easy being with someone who sneezes all the time and sounds like he’s not getting any air at night! I would literally wake up at night to check to see if he’s alive. It was either that he couldn’t breathe or the lack of sleep that would kill him I feared! So it’s not just a horrible time for the sick ones, but for everyone else around. Even for Phoebe, ’cause she has this thing she does whenever someone’s about to sneeze…

Now, some of Peter’s colleagues has already reported feeling the allergy for the past week.  - And I’m confused ’cause nothing has really flowered yet?! But yeah, it seems like pollen is back in town and as usual causing people to suffer.

I always think that a healthy body cannot get sick.
And because I've never suffered from bad allergies, except for an upset stomach, I've always been quite fascinated of why and how people get them? It’s hard to think mother nature would put such a thing upon us. And so I do believe it can be avoided.

This is actually the second year my boyfriend is feeling nothing. Literally NOTHING. Not a sneeze… Well, maybe from our dusty apartment that needs a little spring cleaning… But otherwise he is not bothered and so am I. *happy girlfriend dance*

I waited a whole year to write this post because I wanted to be sure that it wasn’t just a ”good year” last time. As always, if you want to be cured, you will need to take the decision on what matters most in your life, is it your health or your diet?
Because you don’t have to live with a runny nose, and the best part is that it works just like that *snaps fingers*
Well, it did for my hubby at least.
So let’s dig in to see how you can feel wonderful and energized this Spring, just as you deserve to be!

How do we stop the symptoms?
’Cause we all know there’s no ”cure” for anything. If you got it, you have it. What we can do is to ease the symptoms that will make it look and feel like you don’t have anything at all. There’s actually tons of people out there in the world living with allergies, but because they are healthy, they don’t know about it.

So if you suffer from any type of allergy this is what you should avoid overall:
All sugar and sugar products (NOT FRUITS - Sorry, I know my readers are really smart, but for anyone else who’s confused or wondering, it’s okay); starches from wheat and wheat byproducts (gluten); soft drinks; commercially processed and/or fried foods; all foods containing artificial ingredients, such as additives, colorings, flavorings, and preservatives; alcohol; coffee and other caffeine products; eggs; milk and dairy products; processed meats.
It's actually a general list for anyone looking to be healthy; in short: avoid shit.

There’s also reports where people, just by avoiding citric acid additive (the chemical kind) in foods stopped having symptoms!

While doing some research for this post I came by some saying citrus fruits and bananas aren’t good for people with hay fever.
Well, Peter and I proved them wrong, because just at the beginning of our transition to plant based (which was during pollen season), we ate a lot of oranges and bananas of course. ¡No problemos!
And while we’re talking citrus, the number one treatment for hay fever is antihistamine which is a type of vitamin C!
The sources contradict one and other don’t they?

So what should you do if you want to quit hay fever?
Well for starters, avoid or lower your intake of some of the foods in the list I just rambled! Dairy and wheat are known to be mucus forming and inflamatory, so they are best avoided completely during this period.
I’m not sure if you need to go vegan like we did, but cutting down your meat intake doesn’t hurt during this short period (call it ”meat-free season” instead of ”pollen season”), it’s inflammatory and you don’t want to cause more of that in your system. It’s actually simple, increase your plant intake! Eat as much fruits and veggies you want and save the heavier meals for dinner!
It has also come to my attention, and I would say, that most people who suffers from hay fever are actually vitamin C deficient and eats mostly a high cooked diet, therefore it’s actually very important that you eat as much raw foods as possible (this goes for people who get sick very often). So go get some raw cabbage in every meal - cheap and really freaking good for you!

But let’s say that you’re already affected and you want something fast, like NOW! (Even though I would say changing diet would help you in a heartbeat!)
Here are some use of that juicer you probably got for Christmas:

FOR RUNNY NOSES

 LOOSEN UP #1

A thumb of fresh Horseradish
½ Lemon Juice

Juice the horseradish, save some of the pulp and blend it with its juice and the lemon juice. It should equal a puré.
Put it in a shot glass and fire away!

 LOOSEN UP #2

2 small Carrots
10 Radishes with tops and leaves (100g)
A small thumb of Ginger
+ Lemon for taste

Juice the carrots, radishes and the ginger. Pour over some ice and drink about 1 hour after Loosen Up #1.

FIGHTING FOR AIR - JUICE FOR PERSISTENT CAUGHING AND RESPIRATORY DISTRESS

 CHILLI QUEEN

2 Carrots
½ Chilli without the seeds or 1/4 teaspoon chillipowder
½ Pineapple (225g)
½ Lime Juice
1 tbsp Chopped fresh Coriander

Put the carrots, chili and pineapple through your juicer. Pour it over a high glass of ice. Press the lime juice over, then stir in the chopped coriander and serve.

One that the Jason ”Juice Master” Vale swears by!

THE GINGER SHOT

1 thumb of ginger
½ Apple

Don't Give Up

Just a thing that got shared at B-School that I felt I connected with.
I feel many times that the work I do is just trying to be good, and is nowhere near the kind of greatness I always have in mind. It's not really about perfectionism, it's more that ideas in the making don't come out as the ideas in the head. But we all know that with a lot of practice comes perfection.

My favorite quote and motto in life is and will always be:
"Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better." ~Samuel Beckett

TiKei Samples

The first brand in my Makeup Detox-series is the Swedish affordable TiKei. I ordered the 10-sample pack with Brush from them and this is what I got:

SHADER BRUSH
I kind of panicked when I did the order because I realized I don’t have any brush to apply loose powder eyeshadows with and not to mention powder concealers! You couldn’t pick their concealer brush so I just went with what looked like it could be used for many things.
Maybe a Blender brush would work fine too but the Shader brush did just great as a multitask-brush and saved me some trouble! I like that their brushes are vegan and the bristles are soft and works great around the eye area.

L: Warm 3; R: Neutral 3
 FOUNDATION
- Warm 3
- Neutral 3

They have quite a good selection of shades and it’s almost impossible to not find your match.
Because I got a little overboard with selecting four eyeshadows I didn’t really leave room for much foundation shades to be tested. I followed the instructions and while I’m a pretty good match maker for myself, this time wasn’t really a true match. Or well… As you can tell a difference in the picture between the two shades, it seems like both oxidize and turn into the same color. Nobody I asked could tell if one side looked more yellow than the other.
Originally I was thinking Neutral for winter and Warm for the summer, but I ended blending these two together. (Oh and if you wonder where I got the pot? I just recycled my Laura Mercier containers!)
The formula feels maybe on the heavy side for some reason. Most of TiKei’s products uses Boron Nitride, which they explain why on their site. It sounds a bit suspicious and some blogs say it’s bad, but I came across this article. So until I read some proper information on why it would harm my skin in any way, I’m okay with using it.

CONCEALER
- Warm
- Yellow Corrector

Somehow I can’t seem to find a concealer that match when I follow the guidelines. It’s often too bright than its counter foundation-partner. So Warm felt a bit too bright for my yellow complexion, even when oxidized.
As I said I suffer more or less from permanent dark circles so I thought I would give the Yellow Corrector Concealer a go. Turns out it worked even better than the other one and could be even used alone on my yellow-tinted complexion! I ended up blending these two together though for a better and more powerful match.

Sunrise Blush

BLUSH & BRONZER
- Sunrise
- Golden

Even though I don’t feel that ready, I thought I’d give blush and bronzer another try for the sake of science…
There weren’t many blush shades that pulled my attention, so I went safe with a coral-shaded blush and their lightest bronzer.
At first I didn’t like the blush, but as the scars fade the more the color grew on me. I’ve always had pinkish-colored blushes and even though I get most attracted to them I feel like they don’t really suit me always. Sunrise makes me think of Lily Lolo’s blush Clementine that I've had my eyes on, to have something to compare with.

After some excessive research on how to sculpt after face shape I couldn’t be more excited to play with bronzers! Golden is a more of a red toned bronzer, and works great for light-medium skin tones and for winter - leaving just the hint of definition and warmth without being too much.

Now, what I wish both of these would have is shimmer! But none of the TiKei blushes and bronzers offer this. I’ve always seen myself as a matte person, but I’ve come to realize that matte is a bit hard to control, while a little bit of shimmer blush is easier to blend and build - it also lightens the complexion and gives you that glow!

Golden Bronzer
 EYESHADOW
- Cashmere
- Cacao
- Desire
- Embrace

I’m not mad about loose powder eyeshadows but it seems to be ok working with them. The only problem I have is that they crease.
I have quite oily eyelids, and I’ve tried almost everything, but the shadow keeps on creasing within a few minutes, so if any of you my readers has any tips on a good natural eyelid primer (not for glittery eyeshadows!) I would be so so thankful! (I’m wondering if Lily Lolo’s concealer that has Kaolin would work?)

R: Cashmere; L: Cacao
I will start with the one I didn’t like, and that’s Embrace, a shimmery light brown. It looks truly beautiful on picture, but just looked too ashy on my complexion.
Cashmere is my favorite and is a matte beige. The perfect base in my opinion and gives a little bit of warmth. I usually dust it on over my whole lid and brow bone for an au natural look.
Cocoa is a basic matte brown, but maybe too pigmented. I thought I could use it as a crease shadow and eyeliner. While it works good as an eyeliner, it’s just too pigmented to use as a regular shadow. I actually ended up using it to fill in my browns even though it’s a tiny bit too dark - but hey there’s nothing wrong with bringing Pocahontas-brows back!
Then we have Desire which is the most beautiful of the bunch. A shimmery copper brown, just gorgeous and no picture can do it justice! A special-occacion eyeshadow I’d like to call it. I used it as an eyeliner on my birthday but it works great all over lid.

Ayurveda Diet Update

Maybe you remember back in November, I mentioned I was dwelling into the world of Doshas? Maybe you wonder how it all went?
Well, I learned a thing or two from it and I will begin with the things that Ayurveda has helped me with and which lessons I've taken with me from the journey.

(OBS: Put in mind that my opinions are only based on a ~2 months experience. Personally I believe you should stick to a diet longer than that for true results.)

1. Listen to Your Body - No brainer, but the whole idea of Doshas and how your superior Dosha differs from seasons to age, and even the time of the day is a lesson learned in feeling out yourself and your body. So when you follow this simple step you will understand why your body thrives on juicy, sweet and cooling foods in the summer, and why it may like the warm and heavier foods in the winter. This brings you closer to yourself and the Universe in general.

2. Letting Yourself Feel What You Feel - I noticed pretty quickly the fire I had in yoga during the summer and early fall developed into something more slower and deeper during winter.
I've mostly stopped my immense training that I used to do, to only doing Yin yoga and a lot of meditation. And it's been okay if not even great going inwards. It's the season, it's my body, the fire will come back, I trust myself enough to take this break, gain some weight and focus on the inside for while. It all has just taught me how to be more grounded.

3. The Power of Herbs & Neem - I'm not a big fan of supplements, especially not commercial ones or lifetime-takers. But I do think that if you're feeling unbalanced during a period in your life, it's better to turn to some natural remedies of dried herbs in pellet-form. These will not disturb your body by putting foreign objects like the chemical stuff you buy at the drugstore - Book to read: The Healing Code.
My problem seems to have something to do with the digestive track and/or being hormonal. Because diet didn't seem to cut it I figured I'd take help from some Ayurvedic herbal remedies. Together with Triphala I used Guduchi & Neem for regulate the liver and eliminate toxins - excess hormones are taken care of by the liver. Later I switch to Neem & Sarsparilla which helps for healthy skin and the treatment of eczema, psoriasis, acne and rosacea.
There was a significant change in my skin after a month that also lasted off the pill. I still believe Guduchi & Neem was the most powerful one, that gave me detox symptoms in the form of headache and lethargy.

And now to the things that I felt did not do it for me...

1. The Dosha Diet (subjective) - I tried eating after Pitta for about 2 months very strictly, but it just didn't work for me.
My troubles didn't seem to pass by avoiding carrots, beets and my staple the banana. I actually felt much better when incorporating them back into my diet! But as said before, following the dosha diet objective, looking at the whole picture, goes along fine. I just don't think too much bananas was the devil of my problems. But this could also be because a Pitta-diet is mostly made for the summer.
Now I did agree upon less spice the better for my tummy. And even though arugula is no match for spinach, I did find it making my skin glow somehow more.

2. Ghee - It was kind of my way of showing how deep I was ready to try Ayurveda. I didn't cook or eat any other dairy products except for eggs occasionally. In the beginning I thought I saw some benefits, but in the end I don't believe I will make another batch of this. I still think it's just as a good cooking fat as Coconut oil, it's one of the more stable ones so if you're okay with dairy this one should be used. But I have always been pretty much against all kinds of dairy since I was a child (but I'll admit that cheese in my eyes is another artifact...). Just because it's "clarified" doesn't make it Not from another animals breast - iow: not for humans to consume. So in the end, I wasn't that impressed by it.

3. Wrong Food Combining - This is not a strike to Ayurveda itself but the book I was following. I think I mentioned this when posting one of the breakfast recipes in the book. Ayurveda in general educate in proper food combining, which is actually an important part of a healthy Ayurvedic diet. So I was a bit sad that they didn't put emphasis on this in the book, because I believe this is one of the things that would help Swedes make better food choices.
If you don't want to change your diet, change the way you eat it.

END NOTES
Short review of the book: It's one of the few books that I have that actually delivers good recipes. Me and my hubby loved all the curry dishes! I also was very pleased to see simple DIY spice mixes and find a few raw food recipes even though they were high fat. I do think this book teaches you the basics of how to incorporate Ayurveda in Sweden, and doing things from the ground.

+ I also wanted to add that I got very into Ayurvedic skincare after ones dosha. And maybe this was the most profound thing that helped my skin. By identifying myself as Pitta I learned that my skin is very sensitive and so is my body and mind. If I get upset it will upset my stomach and will then show off on my face. Same thing happens when I upset my stomach with the wrong types of foods. We often times don't see stress in the form of food or what we apply on our bodies. But this lesson taught me to lean towards more gentle and milky cleansers, and also indulge in cooling and moisturizing oils; keeping it simple as possible. Just doing this alone has helped my skin be less irritated and less acne-prone. But what I did feel at the end was that this isn't just something "Pitta's" should do. We all have different grades of sensitivity, but we all should treat ourselves, our bodies, our skin with kindness. Like the gentle glass vase we are.

Do you eat or have you ever tested eating according to Ayurveda?
Any similar or right opposite thoughts on my opinions?
I'd be thankful if you shared!

Fresh Face Tamanu Oil
I'm seriously in l o v e with my Tamanu Oil that I got from iHerb, and I see it being a staple oil in my beauty routine. And so I found this moisturizer from Hedd Wyn Essentials that has all of my favorite ingredients! Fresh Face contains: Water, Tamanu oil, MSM, Sunflower oil, Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil, Plant trace minerals, Chamomile Extract, Vitamins A D E, Organic plant acids, and essentials oils of Lavender, Ylang Ylang and Lemongrass.

YÜLI Cello Perfecto PM
With being very into DIY skincare lately (like I could easily make my own Fresh Face) the appeal for commercial brands hasn't been that strong. But then I hear about this brand called Yüli - Jade at Nephriticus can't stop blogging about them - that uses quite extraordinary ingredients, each product has something that has never been on the market before; like Black Garlic Bio-ferment in their Liquid Courage (followers at insta knows I've started cooking with it!).
The price isn't that off putting when you read about the science and purity of each product. For example, they use Miron Ultraviolet glass which is specially formulated to preserve ingredient integrity and helps prolong their potency.
So if there is a brand I'm actually willing to pay and believe in, it's Yüli. And right now I'm all in for any serum that promises to lighten acne scars! It's a pretty new brand on the market, and for now you can only buy Yüli at Amazingy if you live in EU.
I also recommend reading this interview with one of the founders at Beauty Palette Blog.

EDIT: You can now buy YÜLI at Spirit Beauty Lounge!

 DailyGreatness Journal
I recently bought a note book by EcoJot (go check out their amazing cause!) to scribble down any feelings, goals, ideas, thanks, thoughts, to-do’s, you name it! All that stuff that floats around your head that should be nibbled down on a piece of paper! I came across the DailyGreatness Journal when shopping for a yoga bag to my oh-so-heavy-3.2-kilo-(!)-eko-mat and loved the layout of it. I love books that are like questionnaires/fill-in-the-blanks type of thing. I don’t really have a clear yoga routine and the original daily journal maybe could help me structure my days better.

Alima Pure Lip Tint in Lotus
I'm feeling pretty spring-y, and because I've found out that the lip products I use aren't that body-friendly I'm after new favorites to use. Only heard great things about Alima Pure and their lip products. I'm also in love with their limited edition pearluster eyeshadow in Orchid! 'Cause you have heard that this years Pantone color is Radient Orchid?

makeup detox pt two - essentials

In the first part I revealed my toxic makeup that I've had for many years, but don't necessarily slather it on daily or even occasionally. If you missed that click here.

And so to my daily makeup that I reach for when I want to feel extra pretty of some sort.
As I mentioned before, I've been mostly foundation-free since December when my bareMinerals Matte Foundation (bismuth-free) came to its end. So after that the only alternative to looking decent has been these two: NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF30 in Alaska (yes, imported by my lovely friend) and L'Occitane Sublime BB Cream SPF30 in Medium (won at a Glossybox FB contest).
Both of these don't have the best ingredient list I can tell you. While some of the good (flower extracts and oils) are at least in the middle in L'Occitane's BB cream, Nars has put theirs (Algae Extract and Turmeric) last. Before that there's just very weird words that would make me look like a fool for trying to pronounce!
Whether I'm more into powders or liquids is hard to say, because I feel at my best without any color on my face. I rather show the world my aggravated pimples than to try to hide it, honestly.

Then to my real addiction: Concealers.
I was born with very very thin skin under my eyes. Which in turn, if I ever showed up to school wearing no makeup friends and guys would come up to me asking if I'm okay.
I've tested them all, high-end to drugstore, they do make me presentable but none has really made the difference I'm looking for.
Until now actually. It's not a huge difference, but since starting to eat cleaner, which in turn fixed my insomnia and other issues, my dark under eye circles has in fact become somewhat lighter. I still though, feel the need to always use concealer if I'm going out. Hell, I'll even wear it if I'm just sitting at home doing nothing! Because if I cross a mirror I want to look awake for me.
But with them being a hue lighter I feel like any concealer will do nowadays - and this is huge!

Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 25 was bought in the rush when my current concealer at the time got used to its last pump and I couldn't stand walking around without one. It was cheap and a match. But yeah, I wished I would have at least looked at the Une counter haha 'cause this one isn't clean at all, has parabens and other things to avoid. The only good thing is Chamomile extract, but I'm happy I don't use it anywhere else than to brighten my eyes.

- I stopped using concealers on pimples because I got so many of them that I was practically using concealer as a foundation. It just felt heavy and not breathable in the end.

Nowadays I only use two products daily: concealer and lip liners.
The funny thing with lips is that I got into lipsticks at an very early age. While other girls were into their glittery lip glosses and so on I was coming to school in color, sometimes even in bright firetruck red! (Oh and I still got that lipstick somewhere) You can kind of say that I skipped the lip gloss-period all together. People thought I was a bit different, but I couldn't see the deal with sticky lips that the hair would always get caught in haha so freaking annoying.

Now I've evolved and use only lip liners that I paint all over the lips. And my guilty pleasures are: Make Up Store in The Perfect Pink and Russian.
I'm not as experimental as I was in my teens so TPP is the one I wear almost daily, sometimes I blend with Russian to make it a deeper pink. Unfortunately, these wands are not the cleanest things either, having some of the more nastier things than the above I think.
There will probably always be one thing that will be the last thing to be parted with, and in my case it will be to find a perfect dupe to TPP. It is really The Perfect Pink.
But with so many natural lipsticks and colors out there I'm not in any way anxious that I will not find a perfect match.

I do also use a lipstick which I'm not just going to throw away, because I bought like four of them. Yes, f o u r - you read that right. It's not pictured, but it is the MAC Limited Edition Viva Glam of Cindi Lauper. When it came out I was like, "This is my color!" It sold out pretty quickly, so I bought a bulk so I'll forever have this color.
Again, not the best ingredient list, but better than the lip liners I've gone to.

- I do use various of lip balms, but all of these I've switched to clean versions.

Because concealer is my one and only staple when it comes to makeup it will be on top of my priorities that I will try to detox first. I was very sceptic at first, but I've played around with some samples already and actually liking the result - Stay tuned!

You may ask, how about blush?
I stopped wearing blush a year ago, I kind of gave it up.
When you have acne and red scarring all over your cheeks it just adds to it you know. So I came to my senses and just quit it.
Now my face is looking overall better so I'm happy to be exploring the natural ways of blush and sculpt!
If you are interested in what blushes I use/ed I did a post on it two years ago, you find it here.

Mascara?
I haven't actually bought mascara for years. Knowing someone who works at a department store I've been living on mascara samples from various brands.
But I'm planning to walk down to ℅ Lena of ℅ Naturkosmetik and pick up her new natural mascara and maybe get some samples of her makeup too!

What was the hardest for you to give up?
Is there still something that you won't give up?

believe in you

I don't know if it has something to do with me turning one year older or if it's just the sunless days we've been having lately. But for the last couple of weeks I've been waking up all stressed up to later find myself feeling low. I haven't done much working out, except for the usual light yoga and one-hour-power-walks that I force myself to.

And so one day I literally find myself crawling back into bed to just lay and stare into the ceiling. For two hours. Before lunch.
If you've ever had that feeling that you really don't want to do or create anything in this moment, you probably understand. Where was these feelings coming from, I can't explain.
It scared me a bit, but I'm a strong advocate of giving the body  and mind rest if it feels like it. Life is about ups and downs, and you wouldn't be human if you always felt like going out for a run.

The funny thing is that later that day (after staring at the ceiling for two whole hours) I got all excited that I couldn't even sleep!
The weekend before that I had watched a video of Lisa Nichols speaking about how her dream was chasing her and she didn't really recognize it because she was scared and thought she wasn't good enough for the next step in her self revelation.
Same day I buy a journal to write down my dreams, ideas, and gratefulness in, just as a collector of thoughts.

Now, I'm like many of us, a Big Dreamer. I don't know where I got it from, but I also carry a lot of self support and naivety. Which is quite rare for someone who's had it hard growing up - you would've thought that my past had beaten me down and taken away any self worth that I own? But I'm very thankful for the gift of laughter and always going my own way with my own music playing in my ears so I don't hear what other people think or react.

I wouldn't say I'm useless as a general worker, actually, I'm one of the best you could hire! I will always be there on time, finish last, care and be engaged, and never ever have any sick days. The thing is, with all that's going for me I feel it's not for me... and also I'm having a hard time getting hired haha Maybe because it's not really what I want in life ;)
I talk about my dreams daily with my family. Everyone's worried, what will ever come of me? And I say, don't worry, I have this Feeling, I can't put it into words and explain it to you or to myself even, but I do know what I want. And so I keep on explaining in small figures what I want in life. Ever since I was a little kid I've been telling people of how I want to become a writer, or someone independent. Anything that doesn't feel like Work, and that doesn't make me bound to someone above or even under me.
Have you ever had that feeling?

When I was fourteen I was playing with the Law of Attraction without even knowing it, nor had the book The Secret come out yet. I felt like I ruled the world because I was so in tune with it.
When looking back, everything I ever wanted has come true. Has it been handed to me with ease? Yes. But have I always received it with ease? No. Because getting what you most want in life can actually be very scary.

It's this scary thought that I don't deserve it, that it has sometimes gotten my dreams to come true later than sooner.

The biggest dream that has ever come true during my life time is the meeting of My True Love.
Even though I didn't finish with the best grades and was thrown out into the world of unemployment, I was so open and utterly happy when I finished High School, that it opened me to a new chapter in my life. I actually remember walking with one of my friends in Stockholm saying how extremely happy I am and if something new in my life is supposed to happen it should happen Now. Within two months I meet Peter, it was the scariest thing in my life to be honest - and a long beautiful story behind it all, but I'll tell you about it some other time! And within six months I moved at age nineteen just as I planned years ago. And just as I spoked proudly in High School, of how I wanted to be a stay-at-home-wife, this was possible for me too!

Now the dreams of being a writer, a stay-at-home-wife and being independent has so much things in common. And there's no better day of age than now to set it all into course.
It's spelled with an E, but I have difficulty to spell it, and with a love for anything F-sounding, so for me it means: Freedom.

Maybe stay-at-home-wife does seem like I've been watching too much of Real Housewives of X, but it has a deeper meaning + most of the Real Housewives has actually their own successful businesses, and that's exactly what I want too! But for me right then and there the wish was more for me to have some peace. I really needed time to work through some baggage, and stop identifying myself with my past and everything that surrounds me. I've had it so hectic and so much bad energy around me most of my whole life that these past four years has been a blessing!
The thing is, I just realized it a few months ago. That the pause I've been feeling in my life has been all for Me, because I needed it. Now that I feel like I've worked through the things that was preventing me from growing into the person I always wanted to be, I like Me again. I truly love that girl! And she's becoming more and more herself and recognizing the power she has. And so my life starts rolling again. And the signs keeps on popping up again. Things start to happen again. The Movie of my life starts feeling like a movie again.
And I feel so lucky, so blessed, and have never been more thankful for it!

I couldn't sleep that Thursday night. I kept on dreaming of a big screen asking me "Do you want to become successful? Press Here" And I would press without hesitation. Then I would wake up, fall asleep again, only to dream about it again. This happened on repeat. Throughout the night.
I've never in my life had a dream so literal, telling me that if I want to live my dream I have to wake up and live it! Dreaming is for sleeping people, if you truly want it you must Live your dream!

During the hours between my fixated eyes on the ceiling and my sleepless night of excitement my path became more clear.
This maybe won't sound much to you guys, and it didn't for me until I really thought about it.
I went on as usual with my forced power walk for lunch. I usually spend that time going through Kimberly Snyder's podcasts but this day I had listened to them all. I had another podcast subscription, Extreme Health Radio, which I downloaded three episodes of but didn't give time to go through them. As some kind of roulette I chose one of the three episodes, and as I walk I note down the things they talk about to check out when I come home. One of the things they talked about was Jess Ainscough (a.k.a The Wellness Warrior) and how she did about 10 coffee enemas a day at her worst, which I had no idea what it was - still don't actually!
I recall surfing by her website before lunch that same day, don't know why, but I didn't give her site much thought until...
I got home and the first thing I did was google myself back to the Wellness Warrior and there it was, a calling. Something about B-School.
And with the words, "I drink green juice, eat an organic dit, and I meditate; however the thing that adds the most weight to my wellness regime is the fact that I do something I love every single day"
I was pretty much hooked. I felt a deep connection.
Now I may be falling for the biggest media trick in the history, or I'm just following my gut and the signs here.
Because, it didn't feel right until I really thought about it.

I already browsed by her website and it didn't mean anything to me.
I could have just listened to music.
I could have just taken an iPod-less walk as I've done many times before.
It couldn't be about Coffee Enemas, it doesn't even sound like something I should be doing?!

I needed a closer look.
The Universe was telling me to take a closer look.
And when I did, I felt the biggest alignment and excitement I have ever felt in a very long time.
I felt love, I felt happiness, I felt excited, I felt fear, and I did cry a couple of times.
Because I knew this was something I wanted to do and needed to do Now.
I felt that money wasn't the biggest object.
The biggest obstacle and fear would be in this case Me; if I ever doubt myself. I couldn't let that happen.

B-School happens only once a year, and I knew I didn't have time to waste until 2015. Who knows what I'm doing then and what I'm feeling then? I want to do this Now, I know that I am ready for it. And for once during my four years of applying for different jobs and schools there was actually a seat for me to join!

Something you don't know about me, is that I have applied to go to B-School at my local Job Bank (Arbetsförmedlingen) that has a course on it, but they haven't settled for a starting date yet.
So it's something I've been telling everyone that I want to do and I'm waiting for the opportunity. It's supposed to begin this spring, but after months of not getting a starting date I feel like it's not happening and that I have to take things into my own action.

So my intention and emotion was telling the World I was going to take a Business School Course this spring, and so the Universe delivered. I just didn't know I'd be going to something that looks like an awesome B(lieveing)-School!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

I'm adult enough to know the importance of Thanks, and so I also want to thank You guys for following me and reading my blog. You are the inspiration. Because this isn't about me, it's about You. It's the world I want to please and be in service. I don't really know how yet, but I do know I really want to get my act together and live my dream life and help others on the way, because I've gotten some of the best help in my life that I'm forever grateful of.

I've talked about this before, I have Big dreams and plans for Frivolous Girl, I see value in her and I want her to grow somehow.
Now on the side dish, me and my hubby have a project going on that started with a simple bag of organic bananas, which we hope to get running this year! As long as I got my visions, my drive force, and You guys, I'm hoping to make magic happen!
One organic banana at a time...

Healthy Gum Oils

Finally, I'm going to tell you about the different Essential Oils that you can use to make your self-dentistry more powerful. Now there are tons of EO's that can be used for oral hygiene, but I've chosen to list the most popular and effective. These come in no special order.

 CINNAMON
Is an antiseptic and antibacterial. It stimulates blood circulation to the gums that in turn helps their health and regeneration. It has one of the greatest antimicrobial potency against Streptococcus mutans, a bacteria that's responsible for tooth decay, and Lactobacillus Plantarum, one of the bacteria responsible for gum disease.

PEPPERMINT
Peppermint is the most effective in killing what are called Anaerobic bacteria, bacteria that thrive in a low oxygen environment such as the bacteria that causes gum disease.

SPEARMINT
Has a similar chemical property as peppermint. Not only is it an effective antiseptic, it also helps tissue to heal faster without the associated risks of getting contaminated and infected. Spearmint, as well, is also a functional anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral agent. Also soothing to soft tissues like gum tissue.

CLOVE
With its high ORAC value, it helps gum infections, toothaches and tonsillitis with its anti-parasitic qualities.

MYRRH
It acts as an antiseptic and a soother, also effective when acting on mucous membranes.  It's been used for years to support gums to heal and on mouth ulcers. Myrrh oil is very effective in supporting gum tissue to heal quickly by supporting the flow of blood in the gum tissue just as Cinnamon.

MANUKA
Manuka has been shown to be more effective than tea tree oil to many pathogenic bacteria, fungi and viruses.
The oil contributes by being very effective at killing the bacteria as well as making it more difficult for the bacteria to cling to the tooth and gum surfaces.

NEEM
Neem has aspirin-like substances which means it has pain-relieving compounds that can reduce the discomfort of a toothache. The vasodilation and anti-inflammatory compounds in neem prevent cells to bond and kill the bacteria that cause tooth decay. Neem alkalizes the gums and mouth, and kills the bacteria that cause Pyorrhea and Gingivitis. Neem also obliterates the calcium-forming organisms and the organisms that cause cavities.

OREGANO
Comes with antimicrobial properties, which means that it has the power to kill germs that cause illness, including periodontal disease. The oil may also have even more power than antibiotics alone against certain diseases.

ROSE OTTO
Rose Otto adds in resiliency and elasticity to the gum tissue. It is an effective painkiller and is curing, it speeds up the healing of tissues with its potent antiviral and antiseptic properties. Rose Otto also has the ability to regenerate connective tissues and tonify the gums.

SEABUCKTHORN BERRY
Sea Buckthorn’s has natural cleansing, anti-microbial benefits which is good for healthy bone and tooth structure, and the healing of damage to your teeth and gums. Sea Buckthorn contains Omega 3’s which is an anti-inflammatory. The Sea Buckthorn has been studied and found to repair the mucous membranes which the lips and gums directly benefit from.
This very special oil has another remarkable benefit to dental care, Omega 7. This nutrient is very helpful at improving lubrication throughout the body - including saliva. Saliva in turn has a cleansing effect on the teeth, it's our natural toothbrush. By increasing salivation that helps in digestion as well as improves cleansing of the teeth.

TEA TREE
Tea tree is very high in natural anti-inflammatory agents and contains the plant-chemicals cineol and propanol, both kinds of natural chemicals that can decrease gingivitis and reduce plaque. Tea tree also helps stop the approach of bacteria and is very astringent and antiseptic.

THYME LINALOOL
Is a rare variety of the thyme species. It is both antiseptic and gentle. Thyme Linalool balances oral salivary secretions, stimulates the immune system, and acts as a decongestant.

FRANKINCENSE
Known for its antimicrobial properties, it is also used to assist with infection of the teeth and gums. Compounds of frankincense have been found to have antibacterial, antifungal, and immunomodualtory properties.

ECAULYPTUS
Is a germicide that has been reported to fight plaque build-up, gingivitis and prevent cavities.

In the next step I will guide you through some simple DIY on how to use these oils.
Can't wait or rather just buy a finished product?
Brushing teeth with EO's hasn't really catched on yet so there are not many brands to find yet with this type of formula. But I have some that I've seen are the most recommended out there:

LIVING LIBATIONS - Nadine Artemis, the author of "Holistic Dental Care: The Complete Guide to Healthy Teeth & Gums" - probably the queen in that territory. And yes, you guessed it right most of my information and inspiration comes from her. She has the most products to choose from in that subject, and it can seem a bit overwhelming. If you truly need all those products is up to you, but I would sure love to at least have the Healthy Gum Drops in my cabinet.
I haven't really convinced myself to buy her products just yet. The price, when including shipping costs, feels a bit high considering the kind of amount you get.
I know EO's can last long, but when you're two who will share a 5ml bottle, who knows if I even get a months use out of it?!
Prices range between $16-40 (excl. shipping)
You can buy LB at these stores:
 Living Libations Website
Rawliving.eu

ORAWELLNESS - They believe that awesome oral health is a part of an awesome functioning immune system. Their HealThy Mouth Blend costs $22.97 and for that you get at least 15ml. They ship internationally, I've asked them to get a quote on how much the shipping cost is and they told me: It's based on weight, most orders ship Internationally for $11.50 to $14.50. Email for more details at: info@orawellness.com
- It's also good to note that they have a nut-free version for people that are allergic to almond

YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OILS - Their Thieves Collection which has the special oil blend for oral health. The oil blend is also very effective on the flu's and colds, it's got quite some history about it which can be fun to read about. YL is also very good in the sense that they are the only company in the EO-industry that owns, runs and controls their own farms and distilleries, as well as supplying essential oils, dietary supplements, personal care products of high quality and have a unique solutions for any healthy lifestyles.
YL seems to be very known in aromatherapy, of course, and therefore is a bit of a struggle finding a webseller near you. You will actually have better luck going to an aromatherapist.
What I've found:
Kristallrummet (swe*)
Amazon (~32SEK in shipping to swe)
And if you Google, there will come sellers your way, there's just not one big store I can direct you too.

MOST MINTY - A British company that offers you three different strengths on the EO. They do ship Internationally but you will have to email them to get a quote.

I apologize for being away. Sometimes your mind shuts down, and also, this step was quite the time consumer and to be honest I've been procrastinating it... But then I just had to accept that even though I have these visions of blog posts I should be doing they may take more time than I had intentions for and I may not always actually like doing my own ideas haha. It's all lessons in being my own boss - and even though you are your own boss, just like a "real" job, you won't always like every task but deadlines must be reached somehow.
I know the Dental-series were supposed end together with February, and I'm a bit sorry for not holding that promise, but I will continue with them. And I hope you will enjoy them. Thank you for reading!
